Congratulations to Laurel Springs Farms students on another year of showing that was filled with hard work, fun, and rewarding experiences!
Hannah Alias completed her first full year of competition, capturing Reserve Champion honors in both the BRHF Beginner Hunter Rider and BRHF Hunter Pleasure 12 & U divisions with her partner, LSF Zamboni. Austin Skeens also enjoyed his first full year of competition, enjoying success in the hunter ring as well as in combined training competitions. He guided LSF Lady to the 2009 BREA Championship in the Junior Cross Rails division. Ellie Wade joined us in the Fall. She adapted to LSF Napolean quickly, earning Championship and Reserve titles in her divisions, topping it off with the overall Reserve Champion Hunter Pleasure title at the BRHF Finals. Leah and Kate Childers also performed very well in the show ring with their pony, Skye. Leah was awarded the D-1 proficiency designation by USPC. Alley Witten, Sara St. Jeans, Miranda Nelson, and Catherine Perez all had an opportunity to show for the first time, collecting some well deserved ribbons for their efforts and representing our farm well. LSF Little Ricky had his debut year, winning the BRHF Championship for Beginner Hunter Horse. Laurel Gates paired with LSF Little Ricky to win the Championship for Hunter Pleasure 13-17yrs. Laurel and LSF Napolean brought home the 2009 BRHF Pony Hunter Championships. Laurel and LSF Zamboni combined forces to win the Virginia Horse Trials in the Spring. They qualified and performed well at the USPC East Coast Championships and the USEA Zone II Championships this summer. They bumped up to Novice level in the fall and won the series Championship for the Junior Novice Division of the Virginia Horse Trials Fall Series and for the Junior division of BREA Novice, 2009. Laurel and Bo passed their USPC C-2 proficiency rating and are the 2009 BRHF Pony Jumper Champions. | ||
